Drawing Dreams
Imagine a home where dreams can grow.

Every child deserves a safe, stable place to call home – a place where they can learn, play, and thrive. For many children in Summit County, that reality is out of reach. But with your help, we can change that.
This back-to-school season, Habitat for Humanity of Summit County invites you to join our Drawing Dreams campaign. We’re celebrating the dreams and futures of children in our homeownership program by showcasing what “home” means to them through their incredible artwork.
The Power of Home: More Than Just Walls
A stable home is the foundation for a child’s success. It provides the security and conistency they need to focus on their education and build a brighter future.
- Children from stable homes are more likely to graduate high school and achieve higher levels of education.
- A safe environment foasters confidence and emotional well-being.
- It creates a space for learning, growth, and family bonding.

Meet Bishop
At just five years old, Bishop is already dreaming big. With his love for drawing and his excitement for a new home, he represents the bright future that a safe and affordable place to live can provide. A stable home gives children like Bishop the space to learn, grow, and thrive, fostering their creativity and helping their dreams take flight.
Stable homes lead to academic success
Children of low-income homeowners are 11% more likely to graduate high school and 4.5% more likely to complete post-secondary education than children of low-income renters.Healthy homes, healthy children
Addressing substandard housing could have prevented an estimated 39% of asthma diagnoses for children younger than six. A safe and clean home is truly like a "vaccine," as Dr. Megan T. Sandel puts it, protecting children's health and well-being.Homeownership boosts college attendance
For lower- and moderate-income households, a $10,000 increase in housing wealth raises the probability of college attendance by 14%. This means your donation can directly impact a child's access to higher education.Stability is key to development
Children who experience frequent moves, especially in their early years, face severe negative consequences for their cognitive, emotional, and behavioral development, impacting their academic achievement for years. By providing stable homes, you're giving children the foundation they need to thrive.Donate to Build Their Dreams
