Volunteer to Help

Volunteers are the lifeblood of our organization. Without volunteer labor the increased construction cost of each home would prevent it from being affordable for our partner families. We use volunteers for 80% of each home built in Summit County.

We appreciate you taking the first step in helping to make a Summit County family's dream of homeownership come true. There is no specific commitment necessary to become a Habitat volunteer, you may come out as often as you like as part of a group or as an individual.

How to Get Involved

1. Read the volunteer policy.
2. Watch the Construction Safety Video.
3. Fill out volunteer waiver form.

4. View volunteer calendar and call 330-745-7734 to reserve a spot.

Volunteer Guidelines

• Volunteers must be 18 years of age or older to work on an active construction site. For youth volunteer opportunities, please visit our Youth United page.
• Proper attire as outlined by the Construction Safety Video must be worn.
• The ideal group size is 5 to 7 individuals.
• Volunteers are encouraged to bring their own lunch, water bottle and sunscreen.
• Our normal building schedule is Tuesday through Saturday from 8:30 a.m. - 4:00 p.m., but is subject to change in inclement weather.
• Our goal is to give groups a 24-48 hour advance notice of site location and if possible, the type of work they will be performing
