About ReStore

Habitat for Humanity is an ecumenical housing ministry of people working together to eliminate poverty housing. Many families living in substandard housing are caught in a cycle of poverty. Some have given up the struggle and with it, the hope of success. But many continue to work in hope of breaking out of this vicious circle. Habitat for Humanity is a project that builds hope by working in partnership with people to help themselves.

The Summit County Habitat ReStore opened its doors on November 10, 2007, and is one of over 20 ReStores in Ohio and more than 700 in the US and Canada. Each ReStore is independently run by the Habitat Affiliate office serving that community. Click the links to find other ReStore locations throughout Ohio, Habitat for Humanity of Ohio and the United States, Habitat for Humanity International.

How It Works

  • Habitat for Humanity accepts donations of new and gently used home furnishings and building materials such as cabinets, appliances, lighting and plumbing fixtures, doors, lumber, flooring, windows, etc.
  • Some materials will be used to build Habitat houses. The rest will be sold to the public at 70-90% off the retail price.
  • Proceeds generated through the sale of these items helps Habitat build more homes in Summit County

Habitat ReStore...

  • Helps Habitat build more homes
  • Makes home improvements more affordable to the community
  • Prevents usable building materials from going to a landfill

When You Donate, You...

  • Support Habitat for Humanity's building of simple, affordable houses with families in need
  • Reduce or eliminate hauling/trash disposal costs
  • Keep useful materials out of landfills and in use by those who need them
  • Help provide good merchandise to the public at a deeply discounted price
  • Receive a tax deduction for your donation

Save Your Money, Neighborhood, Community and Earth!

At the ReStore, we're raising money to build homes, helping the environment by keeping stuff out of landfills and making low-cost materials available to those who otherwise may not be able to afford them. Everyone wins!
