Mary Shepherd joined HFHSC in June of 2011. She is a retired elementary teacher and administrator. Mary received her bachelor of science degree in education from the University of Maryland, her master's in education from George Mason University in Virginia, and studied administration at the University of Akron. A native of the Washington, D.C. area, Mary has lived most of her adult life in Ohio.
Mary is actively involved in the mission work of her church, St. Paul's Episcopal Church in Akron. She has organized and participated in five Habitat for Humanity house builds with her church in the Akron area, and participates in local and national mission trips as well. Mary currently serves on St. Paul's Vestry as well as on committees of the Diocese of Ohio.
Mary is married to Bob Shepherd, has two daughters, Heidi and Lana, and five grandchildren. In her spare time Mary likes to travel, particularly to the National Parks of the United States. Mary also enjoys gardening, quilting, hiking, and reading.
