Annie, Arturo, Katy (age 7), A.J. (age 4 1/2) and Mateo (age 20 months) joined the Habitat program in 2007.
The Garduño family has lived in Stow for almost seven years and needed to remain in the Stow City Schools since A.J. was recently diagnosed with Asperger's Syndrome. Katy and A.J. both attend Indian Trail Elementary School. Katy is an excellent reader and loves gymnastics; A.J. loves tumbling and playing soccer; and Mateo loves chasing after his brother and sister. They are members of First Congregational Church of Hudson.
Annie, who was a teacher at Immaculate Heart of Mary in Cuyahoga Falls until Mateo was born, is working toward a master's degree in Special Education at Kent State University. Arturo is a painter/drywaller with J. Russell Construction.
